According to TMZ, Mary Poppins actor Dick Van Dyke, 97, was injured in a minor vehicle accident on March 15. On Friday, when out with his wife Arlene Silver, he showed off his wounds to The Daily Mail. He replied to the reporter, “I’m alright, just sore all over.” I did a faceplant directly into the steering wheel since the airbag would not deploy, which only served to make me a little more stupid. He claimed that he needed two stitches in his lip and stiffness throughout his body in the video, which can be viewed HERE. Dick wore a laid-back look that included army print sweatpants, a blue long-sleeve shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and black slip-on shoes while out with his better half in an unnamed Malibu area. According to TMZ, he reportedly informed police officials that he “lost control” of his silver 2018 Lexus LS 500 before the collision happened last week in the same city. The well-known comedian was reportedly driving in rain at the time of the incident while “bleeding from the lips and nose and may have suffered a concussion.” Dick experienced the aforementioned injuries when he “slammed” against a fence. Furthermore, it was said that he “refused” to visit the hospital for additional medical care.

The 97-year-old was not under the influence of alcohol or narcotics at the time, according to TMZ. It was said that after the collision, the police asked him to “retake” his driving test because of his age. On Friday, when talking to the reporter, Dick also mentioned his age and the fact that some of his acquaintances had already passed away. He said seriously, “I’m 97, all my buddies are deceased. Dick responded, “Yes!” when the reporter said that he is still “hanging in there.” I’m still enjoying myself.

The Diagnosis: The murder alum is still having a good time, despite the vehicle accident, as evidenced by his recent appearance on the popular programme The Masked Singer! He was identified as the character Gnome during the Season 9 opener, in the episode that aired on February 15th (watch the video above). Judge Nicole Scherzinger sobbed as she told Dick after he was revealed that “the whole world loves you so much.” The father of four spoke with Yahoo Music shortly after he was booted off the competition to discuss what keeps him optimistic at his age. He remarked at the time, “Having a lovely young wife half my age to take care of me – that works!” “I derive my optimistic outlook from my wife.”

Since saying their “I Dos” for the first time in 2012, Dick and his 51-year-old wife have been married for more than ten years. He was married to the late Margie Willett from 1948 to 1984 before marrying Arlene. The adored celebrity has four children, including actor Barry, 71, Christian, 72, Carrie Beth, and Stacy. On both his and Arlene’s Instagram accounts, they can be seen dancing together and enjoying the outdoors. On May 27, 2022, Arlene posted a picture of her husband wearing a Mary Poppins jumper.
